The Campaign Against Household and Water Taxes is calling for a boycott of the Property Tax forms which are being processed this weekend before they are sent to households around the country.

The forms will be sent to over 1.8 million householders in the coming weeks - and the campaign says it is intensifying its opposition to coincide with their distribution.

Spokesperson Ruth Coppinger said that the tax will push Irish families to the brink.

She said: "The Property Tax and the water charges that are coming next year are going to make a significant impact on families, tip a lot of people into poverty and people will have to question: 'Can we afford not to fight it?'. That's what we will be saying."
