The Campaign Against Household And Water Charges holds its national forum in Dublin today, to prepare for the next phase in its campaign of resistance against "austerity" taxes.

Ahead of the meeting, spokesperson Ruth Coppinger warned that a water tax would quickly follow the property tax.

She was responding to news that an IMF document reveals the Government has told the EU commission that it expects to raise €500m from water charges.

Ms Coppinger said this would bring everyone a step closer to €1,000 in "unjust" charges per year.
