Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said that the Cabinet will be briefed this morning on the latest developments in the horsemeat scandal.
Gardaí have now been called in to help in the investigation after the latest discovery of horsemeat in beef at in Rangeland Foods in Castleblayney, Co Monaghan.
Up to 75% of filler material used at the plant was found to have horse DNA.
Speaking on his way into Government Buildings, the Taoiseach said the issue has to be resolved because it is a matter of reputation.
When asked by reporters if the filler material came from Poland, or if it was merely labelled as such, he said: "Clearly, plants in Poland have been supplying material.
"But the evidence might be that other investigation needs to take place as well.
"We'll have a briefing up-to-date from the Minister this morning."
