Bord Gais staff to share millions as firm is sold to UK consortium

One thousand Bord Gais employees in Dublin, Belfast and Cork will share a €55m windfall.

The sale of the the State-owned utility company to a UK consortium has resulted in the payout to workers who were with the company from 2005 and 2009.

No member will receive less than €17,000 with most to receive an average of €55,000 each in the tax-free bonus.
