Superintendent Derek Smart said gardaí are conducting house-to-house inquiries after a body was found in the garden of a house in Limerick.
"I'm appealing for anybody in the Briarfield area from December 30 to come forward if they have seen or heard anything suspicious in that area, or if they're aware of any information whatsoever which led to this person being found in the rear of the garden this morning."

The discovery in the garden of a premises at Briarfield, Castletroy, was part of a search for a missing Polish man in the city.
The body was discovered in the garden of the man's home this morning, and is being treated as suspicious.
Gardaí at Henry Street received a report of a missing person on Wednesday, January 6. The body was discovered as a result of inquiries carried out as part of that investigation.
The Garda Technical Bureau and the Office of the State Pathologist have been notified.
