Belgium police intercept Irish drug shipment

A large quantity of drugs on its way to Ireland has been stopped.

A large quantity of drugs on its way to Ireland has been stopped.

Police officials found a stock of cannabis in an Irish registered truck in Belgium when the vehicle was stopped at a border check.

The search took place at a service area on the border between France and Belgium.

Belgium police are now in the process of thoroughly searching the truck which is believed to contain heavier drugs such as ecstasy and cocaine. Investigators are convinced that the shipments were due for Ireland.
