Ulster Bank has predicted up to 30,000 job losses in the construction sector may go over the next few years.
The bank said the slowdown in house building will be hurt the industry, which currently employs about 280,000 workers.
However the bank's economic analysis reveals that overall, the economy will continue to grow strongly in the next two years.
Ulster Bank economist Pat McArdle has said the outlook is positive on the whole.
