Bad design leads to under spend of EU jobless fund
An EU fund for jobless workers with €2bn at its disposal has spent just €140m since 2007.
This fund includes €17m to help workers who lost their jobs when Dell closed its factory in Limerick.
According to an investigation by the Financial Times, the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund has been plagued by poor design and lengthy delays in processing applications.
