Attempted armed robbery at Longford post office
Gardaí are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a post office in Ardagh, Co Longford.
At least two men, one armed with a hatchet, were involved in the incident this afternoon.
No-one was injured during the botched raid, and the culprits fled the scene empty-handed after a panic alarm was activated.
