Armed man holds up Kildare filling station at gunpoint

Gardaí in Kildare are appealing for information after an armed robber held up a Rathangan filling station yesterday.

Gardaí in Kildare are appealing for information after an armed robber held up a Rathangan filling station yesterday.

The man, armed with a handgun, entered the premises on the Kildare Road at about 7.30pm yesterday. He forced staff to empty a substantial amount of cash from the tills into a bag at gunpoint.

He made his getaway in what is described as an old gold or beige Ford Mondeo with false plates.
