Investigators in France have requested access to the journals as part of its investigation into the death of Sophie Toscan du Plantier in West Cork in 1996.

Judge Ann Ryan has heard Garda evidence that the murder case also remains live in Ireland and that the court may hear information that could prejudice any later proceedings.
