Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after the death of a pedestrian on a Dublin motorway.

A 27-year-old man lost his life after being struck by a truck on the M1 - Dublin to Belfast road last night.

The incident took place near Balbriggan.

The scene has since been reopened to traffic following a forensic exam.
