Appeal for information on 2006 death

Crimestoppers is offering a €10,000 award for information on the death of Stephen Ledden over three years ago.

The 28-year-old was shot dead as he slept downstairs in his father's house at Upper Oriel St in Dublin's north inner city on St. Stephen's night in 2006.

It's believed he was killed as part of a bitter feud in the north inner city, which has been ongoing since 2003.

But it is understood Ledden was not involved in the feud and was not the intended target.

“Someone might have information that they think is insignificant which could actually be vital. If you have any information please contact Crimestoppers in confidence on 1800 25 00 25," Detective Inspector Kevin Dolan said.

“A reward of up to €10,000 is being offered for information that directly leads to the conviction of the person responsible for Stephen’s death”.

Gardaí will be handing out leaflets in the area where he was killed this morning, as part of their continuing efforts to find the young man's killer.
