Almost 800 households had power cut in April

Nearly 800 households around the country had their electricity disconnected for non-payment in April this year, according to the Energy Regulator.

New figures show 731 households had their gas supply cut off during the same month.

The report shows the number of people who had their power cut off in the first three months dropped by 41% compared to the same period last year.

However, the regulator has said the figures may not give an accurate picture due to a moratorium on disconnections brought in early this year.
