Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is leading the mourning amongst Irish supporters in Paris following the disappointing defeat by Ireland at the hands of the French in the Rugby World Cup last night.

This afternoon Bertie Ahern reopened the newly-restored Old Library at the Irish College in Paris.

The library contains some 9,000 items, of which almost half date from the 15th to the 18th Centuries.

The refurbishment in work was jointly sponsored by the Irish and French governments.

Afterwards, Mr Ahern dodged questions about his tribunal appearance.
