Ahern and Blair welcome SF move on policing
The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has welcomed the decision by the Sinn Féin Ard Fheis to support policing and the rule of law.
British Prime Minister Tony Blair described it as an historic decision and said he recognises the leadership it has taken to get to this point.
The Irish and British governments will publish the 13th report of the Independent Monitoring Commission on paramilitary activity next Tuesday.
It's expected to give a clean bill of health to Republican paramilitaries thus leaving Ian Paisley's DUP Party no option but to share power with Republicans.
