After the floods five months ago, the Limerick to Ennis rail line may re-open

Irish Rail say that the Limerick to Ennis rail line will re-open tomorrow.

The line has been closed since December due to flooding at Ballycar following heavy rain over the winter months.

If the outcome of an inspection in the morning is satisfactory, the 4.30pm Limerick to Ennis service will operate as normal.

Water levels had peaked in early March at 1.4 metres above the rail, with a 1.75 mile section of line flooded near Ballycar.
