The passengers of an Aer Lingus jet which was forced to return to Dublin Airport this evening are now travelling on an alternative flight tonight.

The passengers of an Aer Lingus jet which was forced to return to Dublin Airport this evening are now travelling on an alternative flight tonight.

Flight E.I. 498 from Dublin to Faro turned around shortly after take-off at half-past four this afternoon - after its pilot fell ill.

The flight safely touched down less than an hour later - and Aer Lingus says all 163 passengers are being accommodated on a later flight this evening.
