Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a hit-and-run in Cork yesterday evening.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a hit-and-run in Cork yesterday evening.

A 71-year-old cyclist was hit by a car at Haymount, Lower Woodstock in Carrigtwohill at about 7.30pm.

The driver of the car failed to remain at the scene.

An ambulance took the woman to Cork University Hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not life-threatening.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Midleton gardaí.
