€40m jobs fund announced by Jobs Minister

The Government has announced a new €40m regional jobs fund.

The competition aims to provide finance for new projects - generated through the eight regional jobs plans - with the remaining programme for Dublin to be released in the coming weeks.

The scheme will operate under five themes - on a phased basis.

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton has said the fund puts money in place to support the regional jobs plans: “The idea of this regional fund is that there will be €40m available to seed the best ideas coming from within these plans, to deliver new initiatives that will drive employment in the regions.

“There will be five themes under which competitive calls will be made.”
