More than 200 workers are set to lose their jobs following the announcement that Galmoy Mines is to close its operation in Co Kilkenny over the coming years.
The facility will be shut down on a phased basis over the next three years, with the first 36 jobs due to be shed before the end of this year.
Redundancy negotiations between management and SIPTU concluded this morning.
The workers are set to receive six-and-three-quarters weeks of pay for each year of service, while retraining will also be provided for those being laid off.
