19-year-old remanded over Longford murder

A Czech national has been charged with the murder of mother of two Sharon Coughlan in Longford town last weekend.

A Czech national has been charged with the murder of mother of two Sharon Coughlan in Longford town last weekend.

David Brozovshy with an address at Ardnacasa, Longford appeared before a special sitting of the town's District Court last night

The 19-year-old has been charged with the murder of the 37-year-old woman at a vacant house at Great Water Street last Saturday night.

A post mortem examination determined that Ms Coughlan died as a result of asphyxiation.

Mr Brozovshy was remanded in custody to Saint Patrick's Institution.

He will appear before Mullingar District Court on Thursday.
