It has been a memorable two days at National Lottery headquarters as five individual winners have collected a total €1,315,000 in prize money across Lotto & EuroMillions draws and scratch card games.

The day’s biggest winners were Natalie Owens (pictured) from Limerick who won €500,000 on an All Cash Extravaganza scratch card, while a lucky couple from Co. Clare picked up a cheque for another €500,000 after hitting the jackpot in the EuroMillions Plus draw on Friday May 13.

Natalie Owens and her husband, James from Limerick were in a celebratory mood as they collected their cheque for a half million euro.

The winning scratch card, a €20 All Cash Extravaganza was sold at The Ambassador Shop in Dooradoyle, Co. Limerick.

A regular National Lottery scratch card player, Natalie admitted she wasn’t too surprised with her win, ‘I usually buy two All Cash scratch cards every week, a €10 one and another €20 one. I almost always win something on them every week. I have won three €1,000 amounts before and two €500 prizes so to hit the top prize of a half-million euro is not really a surprise to me,’ she joked.

Discussing her plans for her winnings, Natalie added, ‘We are in the process of building a house extension at the moment so the money will come in very useful. I always promised myself a new car if I ever won a large amount on a scratch card so on the way to Dublin today, I stopped off at the Toyota garage and I ordered the new Toyota Rav 4.’

Meanwhile, a winning couple from Co. Clare are also celebrating their own €500,000 win after hitting the jackpot in the EuroMillions Plus draw on Friday 13.

The winning Normal Play ticket was sold at Sean’s Shop, Drumgeely, Shannon, Co. Clare on the day of the draw.

The winning couple who wish to remain private, are lifetime players of the Lotto and EuroMillions and have consistently played the same numbers since the inception of the Lotto draw in 1988.

As they were presented with a cheque for €500,000, one of the winners gushed, ‘It’s an amazing feeling to have the comfort of knowing that we have half a million euro in the bank,’ she said.

‘We have been playing the same numbers, week-in, week-out for nearly twenty years. We won smaller amounts in the Lotto draws a long time ago with the same numbers and recently, I even suggested we change them because I felt they were unlucky!’ she added.

Today’s other winners at National Lottery Headquarters included a €40,000 winning Money Multiplier 40X scratch card which was sold at the Grove Service Station, Baylough in Athlone Co. Westmeath. There was also a €25,000 winning All Cash Spectacular which was sold at the Centra on North King Street, Dublin 1.

Another couple from Co. Wicklow are also celebrating after scooping €250,000 after hitting the jackpot in the Lotto Plus 2 draw from 07 May. They had to rescue their winning ticket from their kitchen bin before they realised they had a winning ticket worth a quarter of a million euro.
