Machine designed to drive a post anywhere

The new Vector Powerdrive Model-4 Agri 120º can drive a fence post in the most awkward of places, according to specialist fence post driver manufacturer, Vector Powerdrive in Co Kilkenny, a sister company of Brennan Fencing, writes Stephen Cadogan.

Its main selling point is a high level of mast manoeuvrability, with tilted 15-degree off-perpendicular in any direction, to compensate for all terrain types and inclines.

The machine is suitable for tractors of 80 horse power or higher.

In addition to mast adjustment, the entire post driver can be swung 120 degrees (hence the machine’s name) from beside the tractor to behind the tractor. And a 600mm telescopic facility can be used to drive a fence post in the most awkward places (including the other side of drains).

The operator (one person can do fencing operations or repairs with the Model-4 Agri 120º) does not have to precisely position the tractor over the post, and can just drive in a straight line.

Or a tractor driver and fence post driver can work together in a two-person or contractor fencing scenario.

The 300kg hammer has a triple pulley system for greater impact, and a hydraulic jack under the mast provides support while driving posts.

A ball hitch is standard fitted for towing a trailer with fencing supplies.

Optional equipment includes a rock spike.

The new Vector Powerdrive Model-4 Agri 120º will be one of the Irish machines on show at Lamma in Peterborough, England, January 17-18.
