Rapper: New disc will be a 'classic'
50 Cent is convinced his new album will be a "classic".
The 'In Da Club' hitmaker feels confident his upcoming record 'Street King Immortal' will go down in history as one of the all time hip-hop masterpieces and has reassured fans it is well worth the wait.
The confident rapper - whose real name is Curtis Jackson - tweeted: "Hip Hop gave me every thing I could dream of. I guess the only way I can give back is doing my best im writing S.K.I classic #SMSaudio (sic)".
He added: "New year,New approach, I'm not afraid of change.this Sh!t is going perfect STREET KING IMMORTAL will not fall short of a classic (sic)".
The album, a follow-up to 2009's 'Before I Self-Destruct', will be 50 Cent's fifth opus and has been subject to repeated delays after the rapper suffered a falling out with Interscope records.
He explained this autumn: "For this album, it's already been a year late. It's usually two years in my cycle that I go [between albums]…this cycle was actually a lot longer because it's the final album requirement for Interscope and we went through an audit type of situation…now everybody's ready to work, so it's ready to come out."
The hotly-anticipated record features the likes of rap maestro Eminem, Maroon 5 warbler Adam Levine and soul singer Alicia Keys.
'Street King Immortal' is set for release on February 26, 2013.
