Hollywood stars are preparing for the Golden Globes tonight, which is being held virtually.

There are several Irish nominees including Brendan Gleeson for best supporting actor in a TV role in The Comey Rule.

The Dubliner is nominated for his uncanny portrayal of former US President Donald Trump.

Cartoon Saloon's Wolfwalkers is up for the award of best motion animated picture.

Co-director of the film, Ross Stewart says he really wants people to be able to see the film in cinemas soon.

The hit adaptation of Irish author Sally Rooney’s Normal People will go up against The Queen's Gambit for best limited series.

While Paul Mescal was snubbed for a nomination, Daisy Edgar-Jones is nominated for best actress in a limited series.

The event takes place in the early hours of Monday morning (Irish time).
