Watch: People were gutted after Brian McFadden fell on Dancing On Ice

It was a tough evening for Brian McFadden who crashed out of Dancing On Ice in the semi-final.

The singer and presenter, along with partner Alex Murphy, had to take part in the skate-off after being in the bottom two after the public vote.

Unfortunately for Brian, he fell attempting a lift and the judges - Ashley Banjo, Jason Gardiner, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean - all saved Saara Aalto, who advanced to the final.

“It’s been amazing,” said McFadden after his fate had been revealed. “We have had such a great time.”

He also apologised to skating partner Alex for his tumble.

Fans on social media were gutted for Brian after he fell at such an important moment.

Speaking today on This Morning, Brian told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that he got his footing wrong which caused the tumble in the skate-off.

He added: "As soon as I hit the ground, straight away in my head, I went that's it. We're done. The show is over for us know. And that was the hardest part."

The former-Westlife star said it was sad to go out like that and up until to the fall, it "felt like the best skate we'd ever done".

The Dancing On Ice final will take place next Sunday on ITV.
