VIDEO: Owner defends club after comedian finds two-way mirror in ladies toilet

The owner of a Chicago club has defended his business after a comedian found a two-way mirror in the ladies bathroom and posted a video of it on YouTube.

Tamale Rocks noticed something a little off in the Cigars and Stripes club she was performing in and said she became “paranoid” by a large mirror right opposite the ladies toilet.

What she found behind the mirror was a cleaning closet, and when she turns the camera you can see the back of the door is in fact a two-way mirror with a “clear view” of the entire ladies bathroom.

Writing in the YouTube description for the video Tamale comments: “There was no one in there at the time of discovery- thankfully.”

“And there could have been. And maybe there has been. And maybe they were watching, or maybe more.”

To make matters worse the owner of Cigars and Stripes, Ronnie Lottz, not only confirms he knew of the mirror existence - but also that it has been there since 2001.

“Do you know that mirror’s been there for the longest time. That woman opened the door. I mean she opened the door, there’s nothing in there,” Lottz told Jezebel.

Lotz went to say that Tamale was just looking for a viral video after she had a “bad set” and that there was no way he was getting rid of the mirror as it was good publicity.

“I will burn this f***ing place to the ground before I get rid of that mirror. Do you know how much joy that mirror has brought to us?”

The video has been viewed more than two million times on Youtube since Sunday and Berwyn police detectives have since investigated the mirror.

They have said it’s their belief that it has never been used inappropriately.

The Chicago Tribune reports that club staff told the police that the mirror is a running joke with regulars and during Halloween a mask or a skull is rigged up there to spook customers.

Seems like we may have missed the joke on this one…
