One of the younger members of the Healy-Rae political dynasty is running for re-election to Kerry County Council.
And of course, Johnny Healy-Rae (29) has an election song - plus a YouTube video picturing him in a variety of pastoral scenes.
The bould Johnny is the son of Danny Healy-Rae - also a member of Kerry Co Co, and also running for reelection in the Killarny area - a nephew of TD Michael, and a grandson of political patriarch Jackie.
Although he's already a member of the council it's his first time running for election, as he was co-opted on board in 2011.
"Most election songs are kind of cheesy," Johnny told breakingnews.ie, with nary a hint of irony in his voice.
The ditty was written and performed by a band called Truly Diverse, a bunch of lads (and one lady) hailing from Beaufort and Killarney.
"They're a young local group on the wedding scene," Johnny told us.
"What happened was, I was at a wedding in Ballygarry, it was about 2am in the morning and they spotted me.
"The next thing they were singing this song 'Johnny Rea, Johnny Rea' and it went down a storm.
"They asked me could they record it as an election song and I heard no more about it until they sent me a disc a few weeks later."
All together now!
Dammit it's actually kind of catchy…
