A girl with a heart of gold is the only way to describe seven-year-old Leah who raised €135 in birthday donations for the charity LauraLynn.
LauraLynn is a charity children’s hospice that provides respite, home support, crisis and end of life care for sick children.
Leah tweeted the charity to let them know she had made a donation with a handwritten letter that said she had asked people to donate to the charity instead of buying her presents or giving her money on her birthday.
Wonderful letter & donation from Leah (aged 7) in lieu of birthday presents. What an amazing girl - thank you! pic.twitter.com/fu9MrvfedQ

Anyone who can remember being seven will know what a big deal it is to give up the lure of new toys and easy money for a good cause and her goodwill gesture should be lauded for the kindness and generosity it shows.
Fair play to little Leah, we hope she had an amazing seventh birthday and feels great knowing she has helped those who need it most.
