Revealed: New video shows the Normal People goalkeeper is actually excellent

When Normal People first aired, the response was hugely positive.

And ever since the love story between Connell and Marianne has gripped the nation.

However, in the first episode, some questioned the skills of the goalkeeper in the GAA scene.

Comedian Dara Ó Briain humorously pointed out: “Sally Rooney really should have written a goalkeeper who made more of an effort with that shot.

“I acknowledge her gift at drawing realistic, flawed characters but that goalie was clearly standing on the back foot as Conall ran in, leaving him to flap uselessly.”

Director Lenny Abrahamson responded to the doubters to point out that the keeper had actually been too good in early takes of the shot.

And now the Room director has produced proof of the player’s quality between the sticks.

The goalie himself has spoken up to thank the Oscar nominated director for vindicating his skills.

Adam O’Connor said he hoped the doubters were “content with these clips.”

Although, there are still a few GAA based questions that need resolving…
