Morning glory as Dublin has its first pre-work (sober) rave

Time to rise and shine!

Time to rise and shine!

Dublin had its first early morning rave today as hundreds of people began their day by dancing at 6.30 am - stone-cold sober.

Organised by Ed Hurrell, Morning Gloryville has a simple concept. Get up (really) early and dance - costumes and kids optional but welcome. The event was completely alcohol and drug-free with the only stimulant being a healthy zest for life - and plenty of coffee, of course.

Ravers also had the option of incorporating a pre-work yoga routine into their morning at the event which took place from 6.30am to 10.30am on Camden Street.

Morning Gloryville started out in London in May 2013 and has since expanded into other cities and countries from Amsterdam to Australia. It describes itself as "an immersive morning dance experience for those who dare to challenge morning culture and start their day in style".

While there's almost no way you'd get us out of bed at 6.30am, the infectious energy in the photos does look temptig. It definitely looks more fun then our usual early morning routine of sleeping through the alarm and running for the bus.

The next event is being held on the 6th of August and if you want to "rave your way into your day", you can find out more information and buy tickets on their Facebook page here.
