Man divorced his wife two hours after marrying her 'because she used Snapchat at the wedding'

When two people decide to get married, it is assumed that they are insanely in love – personality, habits, quirks and all.

But this was not the case for a recent groom in Saudi Arabia who clearly wasn’t too fond of his fiancee’s social media habits.

According to local reports, the man divorced his wife just two hours after their wedding for using Snapchat, which broke a prenuptial agreement that banned her from using social media.

Dammit you, insanely addictive Snapchat filters!

Weddings are traditionally a place where people gather to dance, eat and, of course, take a lot of nice pictures – but this groom had other ideas.

The need to snap was just too over-powering for the Saudi bride (FYI we totally get it), so after she shared pictures amongst her friends, the marriage was almost immediately called off.

The bride’s brother told Saudi paper Okaz: “There was a prenuptial agreement between my sister and her fiancé that she would not use social media applications such as Snapchat, Instagram or Twitter to post or send her pictures.

“It was included in the marriage contract and became binding. Regretfully, my sister did not honour the pledge and used Snapchat to share pictures from the wedding ceremony with her female friends, resulting in the shocking decision by the groom to cancel their marriage and call for divorce.”

Rumour has it that the bride’s family is disappointed and upset by the groom’s decision, but we think she really dodged a bullet with this one.

Seriously, what’s the point of getting married if you can’t spend hours face-swapping anyways.
