Joe Wicks sparks backlash after photo with his eight-month-old daughter deemed 'risky' and 'irresponsible'

Health and fitness guru, Joe Wicks has come under fire over a recent photo of himself and his baby daughter, Indie.

The photo in question was taken at sunset on the beach in Tamarindo, Costa Rica and shows Joe, balancing his child in the palm of one hand, by her feet.

"My dad used to balance me in his hand like this when I was a baby," he captioned the post.

The Body Coach account has over 2.6 million followers, who were quick to point out that the pose was risking the safety of his eight-month-old.

One user shared a lengthy comment, which has over 50 likes, slamming Wicks for being an 'irresponsible' parents.

"What I say might attract criticism but I feel that it's a little irresponsible of you,” he said.

“You're in a foreign country, on the beach, miles away from anywhere you could get medical assistance.

If you'd have dropped her God forbid, even worse on her head, what would you have done?

"You would not have posted this picture on Instagram to begin with, and at worse ended up in hospital. And for what reason? To get some likes on Instagram? Wait it truly worth the risk?"

“Regardless of risk which is not my business I am fed up of literally tarting his child in a way to get more coverage” said another.

A third agreed and said the photo had made her belly “churn a little”.

Other fans came to the 32-year-old’s defence.

“She is having an amazing time. Bless her. She is going to have adventures through her life. With parents like you too. Amazing,” one siad.

Another added: “Anyone who follows @thebodycoach knows full well how much he loves and adores his baby girl and therefore would never do something that could put her at risk ,get a life”

“It’s heartwarming to see a parent especially a father being so devoted and would hate for him to stop posting because of boring people like you!”

Others thought the photo was actually photoshopped.
