Once in a generation, there's a voice so distinctive, you recognise it instantly.
For the young people of today, that voice may very well be Connor Redwood*, who - whether you know it or not - is the voice of that characteristic "hey!" call on every hit song track.
The
hitmaker was speaking in a video interview to promote his new album, - which is spelled backwards - and told reporters "yelling 'hey!' is my life."The obsession with "hey" in modern music traces its roots back to Crystal Water's 1997 hit 'Say [hey] If you Feel Alright', but hit its peak with Outkast's 'Hey Ya' in 2003.
As Connor confesses in this heartfelt interview, he grew up in that era, and was heavily influenced by the word in his childhood.
Be sure to check out Redwood's
, due for release on February 30, 2015.(* … of course, absolutely none of this is true; comedian Harris Alterman, however, hit the satirical nail on the head.)
