After eight seasons, some tears, a few controversial storylines and many, many, many deaths, Game of Thrones has come to an end.

The final season has drawn mixed reactions with some 1.3 million fans even signing a petition for the entire eighth season to be redone.

But whether you loved or hated the finale or just thought it was grand, there's no denying that this groundbreaking series has left fans with some great memories.

Those who aren't busy signing petitions or sharing theories have been finding creative ways to pay tribute to the show that enthralled the world.

You can relive the entire eight seasons in less than a minute-and-a-half thanks to this video showing one second from every episode.

Some have turned to food for comfort.

More have been creating fan art to pay tribute to their favourite moments and characters.

But mostly people have been making memes. Lots and lots of memes.

So when Maisie Williams, who played Arya Stark, went on to Twitter the night of the finale and said "just here for the memes", the responses she got were fantastic.

Here are just some of our favourites.
