Rejoice, actors and nerds alike - they're looking for actors for the new Star Wars film, and they're holding auditions in Dublin.
UK casting agency Open Call put out word that they're working on a new Disney film with the following poster:
The Dublin auditions for this Disney film take place on November 23 and 24 in Filmbase in Temple Bar, and they're looking for the lead roles. The event is a meet-and-greet with the casting directors, and you can just pop along with a headshot.
A male and a female lead, with street-wise pasts, and - possibly - an Irish accent. What's not to like?
"Rachel was quite young when she lost her parents. With no other family, she was forced to make her way in a tough dangerous town. Now 17 she has become street smart and strong," the casting call tells us.
"Thomas has grown up without a father’s influence. Without the model of being a man. He doesn’t have the strongest sense of himself, despite this he is smart, capable and shows courage when it is needed."
Not exactly Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, we think you'll agree. So what else could it be except the new Star Wars film, which Disney bought the rights to last year?
Besides, this can only be a good thing. We've always said Star Wars could use some more Irish influence.*
