Saoirse Ronan won her first Golden Globe last night, winning the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy for her role in Lady Bird.
She attended the ceremony with her best friend, Eileen O’Higgins (who she co-starred with in Brooklyn), but there was one important woman not there, who wasn’t to miss out.

Upon accepting her award, Ronan was quick to address the fact that her mother was watching her daughter pick up her Globe via FaceTime in what was no doubt an enormously proud moment.
And needless to say, everyone loved it.
