Derry Girls star Nicola had the best reaction to comments about her ‘unflattering’ BAFTA dress

Derry Girls star Nicola Coughlan has taken to Twitter to respond to a comment criticising the dress she wore at the recent Bafta TV Awards.

A UK tabloid deemed her pink frock as “not the most flattering” in an article about the worst-dressed celebrities on the red carpet of the annual award show.

The comment was picked up by a Twitter user who asked the newspaper if they were proud to be "contributing to the persistent degradation of women".

Headline should read "talented comedy actress @nicolacoughlan wears dress she likes to BAFTAs

- they added.

Nicola responded by retweeting the fan’s tweet with the comment: "I look smokin', sorry 'bout it.".

You guessed it, once a Derry Girl, always a Derry Girl - it didn't end there.

The 32-year-old went on to tweet the publication some selfies they could to use if they pleased and a video of her hanging out with fellow stars Jamie-Lee O’Donnell and Dylan Llewellyn at the ceremony.

“If you would like receipts, I have them, in video form,” she wrote.

The article also said Nicola's co-star Louisa Harland was "a picture of Victorian austerity which brought a sombre mood".

Keep doing you, Nicola.

Sr. Michael would be proud.
