Looking for something different to take part in this summer?
The Dublin Smartphone Film Festival has partnered with award-winning street photographer Tim Bingham to deliver a dual Smartphone Filmmaking and Photography workshop in Cork city.
The workshop is suited to aspiring filmmaking with a burning story to tell and budding photographers looking to learn how to capture outstanding photos.
The hands-on day which gives its attendees the tools needed to shoot a movie and capture pictures using only the phone you have in your pocket will run from 9am to 5pm on June 22 at the Civic Trust House 50 Pope's Quay, Shandon, Cork.
So grab a friend with an interest in film and head on down to Shandon on Saturday week.
Here is a closer look at the breakdown of the one-day workshop:
You will learn:
- Learn the essential skills needed to write, shoot, edit and market a film made on a phone
- How to script and Storyboard your film
- How to edit using your Smartphone
- How to capture quality sound using your Smartphone
- Green Screen work and keyframing on your phone
- What the best equipment and apps are that are at your disposal to create the most engaging film possible
You will learn:
- Develop composition
- Develop creative publicity stills
- Practical tips for capturing photos
- Discover the best apps for editing
- Being aware of light
- Practical editing experience using mobile apps
