Calfornia wildfires rage, people take selfies

'I should really take a picture of myself with this out-of-control, dangerous fire and upload it to the internet.' Yep, that's the thing to do.

Calfornia wildfires rage, people take selfies

Scorching temperatures and dry winds have led to fast-moving wildfires raging across southern California. Thousands have been forced to evacuate their homes and authorities have declared a state of emergency. In one town, 30 buildings were burned to the ground.

So what do people do when there’s a natural disaster and imminent danger? Take a selfie, of course.

One guy was filmed taking a selfie during a live TV broadcast warning people about the dangers of going too near the fires. The news reporters were not impressed.

What is up with people and inappropriate selfies these days?

Just the other day, we had that Irish guy taking a picture with a collapsed cyclist at the Giro d'Italia in Dublin.

Priorities, people!
