Walt Disney has announced a brand new Pixar film by the same director who brought the world 'Inside Out' and 'Up'- Peter Docter.
The film titled 'Soul' will between New York City and the cosmic realms. Disney's official fan site D23 made the announcement on Twitter:
One year from today, Pixar Animation Studios will take you on a journey from the streets of New York City to the cosmic realms to discover the answers to life’s most important questions.
The film will be released on June 19, 2020- exactly five years since the Inside Out premiere.
Disney & Pixar have a separate film 'Onward' by director Dan Scanlon who is responsible for 'Cars' and 'Monsters University'. The film is said to be based on the relationship he has with his brother. When Scanlon was one, and his brother three, their father died.
Pixar says it will be set in a suburban fantasy world and will introduces two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there.
“At Pixar we try to create stories that come from some kind of personal truth,” said Scanlon. “This film was inspired by my own relationship with my brother.”
According to MTV, Scanlon told the crowd at the D23 Expo in 2017 he always wondered who his father was: "In the film, we're going to tell the story of two teenage elf brothers whose father died when they were too young to remember him.
"But thanks to the little magic still left in the world, the boys embark on a quest that will allow them a chance to spend one last magical day with their father."
Onward will be released in March 2020.
