According to these Irish kids, here’s the best thing about being a child in 2017

In a world of Instagram likes and fidget spinners, life a as child in 2017 is a tad different to the childhood most of the people reading this experience.

Barnardos is celebrating Universal Children’s Day today and in aid of this, they ask a group of Irish kids two questions, “What is the best thing about being a child in 2017” and “What are the things that make be your childhood better”.

Let’s just say there are a few interesting responses.

The organisation is encouraging people to share the video and to ask the children in their own lives what they think.

Fergus Finlay, CEO, Barnardos said: “Today is about celebrating children and the special time that is childhood. As illustrated in our video, children have remarkable insight and wisdom and at times a delightfully simple view of the world.

“We can learn so much by simply listening to children, and children gain so much when they feel heard and valued. What better way to celebrate Universal Children’s Day than to listen to the children in our lives.”
