A trading statement released today by Tullow Oil shows that production for last year, measured by barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd), was up by 13% to 73,100.
The company also revealed that the average working production for 2008 is expected to be between 70,000 and 74,000 boepd.
It drilled 16 exploration wells last year, nine of which found oil or gas, with the highlight the discovery of the Jubilee field off the coast of Ghana, with potential reserves of 1.3 million barrels.
In South Asia, Tullow has production interests in Pakistan and Bangladesh and exploration interests in India.
