Tradesmen can now offer a cashless payment service

People who use tradesmen for home repairs or improvements will now be able to pay by card.

The cashless payment service has been offered by OnlineTradesmen.ie which is Ireland’s largest source of qualified trade professionals.

The new payment service is called ‘TradeyPay’ and it gives extra security to property owners who are getting work done.

The service is being offered through the website OnlineTradesmen.ie which says property owners will benefit from the 90 days payment cover from their card issuer.

As an extra layer of security, property owners who originally source their tradesman using the OnlineTradesmen.ie service can link the payment to their original job request – providing a full audit trail of the payment from the original request and the tradesman's online response.

This additional information provides an irrefutable record of the service provided and paid for by the property owner which can be used in the event of any dispute.

Ted Laverty, CEO Onlinetradesmen.ie said: "We believe that our TradeyPay service will revolutionise the way in which property owners pay tradesmen and tradesmen collect payments on a global basis”

"Over the last number of years we have seen the antiquated nature of how home improvement projects are paid for. Tradesmen have had to depend on property owners having significant cash on their person or deal with cheques and bank transfers.

"On the other side property owners get stuck with insufficient cash and have to make payments without any concrete guarantees. With our TradeyPay platform we have developed an Innovative solution to a universal issue. Tradesmen can now get paid instantly for their work in full or in stages. Property owners can pay in comfort knowing that they have extra security for their project.”

To date over 1,200 Tradesmen are enrolled on the TradeyPay service.
