SWS Business Process Outsourcing Ltd, has signed a five year deal with BT Ireland to implement an MPLS network as part of its strategy to position itself for continued rapid growth.
MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) gives network operators a great deal of flexibility to divert and route traffic around link failures, congestion, and bottlenecks.
The deal, worth €1.3m, will see BT roll out the network to a number of sites across Ireland, Europe and the USA. The provision of telephony services to the West Cork based organisation is also included in the contract.
“SWS required the comfort factor that BT had the professional skilled personnel to service their needs. Our experience through the BT Global Services division allows indigenous companies to expand into other territories and grow their business,” said Anne O’Leary, Managing Director of BT Business.
“It was a strategic decision for SWS and not just a question of cost. SWS wanted a committed partner that will continue to make long term investment in new technologies whilst leveraging its global experience and capability," she added.
