Six Irish companies are to receive EU grants worth millions of Euros to advance their innovative ideas.
Pure Fibre Limited and Soapbox Labs, both in Dublin; Eircomposites Teoranta at Inverin Co. Galway; and W1dA Experience in Westport will benefit from the funding under the EU Horizon 20/20 Programme.
Irish start-up companies have received more grants per capita under the scheme than all other EU States.
Gerry Kiely, who is Head of EU Representation in Ireland, says the awarding of the grants reflect the high level of innovation in Ireland.
He said: "Well these grants are between €50,000 and €2.5m for companies that have innovative ideas,; who are moving forward."
"This brings to 89, the number of companies in Ireland which have received this innovative grant - it shows the degree of progressiveness and innovation in Irish industry today."
