A total of 25 new jobs are on the way for Dublin at Irish educational publisher Folens.
The jobs will be created with the establishment of a spin off high-tech online and mobile learning company Apierian.
Half of the positions will come on stream over the next 12 months, with the remainder being filled in the following two years.
The new roles will bring the total number of people employed by the Folens Group to 100.
“The creation of this new company has been planned for some time and is a testament to Folens' long term vision for the future of Irish education," said Managing Director, John Cadell.
"We are all looking forward to bringing together our experience in creating quality educational content with our investments in education technology to help more learners reach their potential.
"Apierian, headed by Brian Halpin, Folens Group Product Director, has already been investing in the development of a new range of learner centric personalised and adaptive educational products that we believe will transform how people experience the entire learning process."
The announcement is the latest in a series of developments at the Folens Group which has seen its acquistion of educational resources company Carroll Education and the establishment of another subsidiary, LeaF investments, which provides venture capital for start up companies in the educational technology area.
