Retail Ireland urges Govt reassurance on economy

Retail Ireland have said the Government have a major part to play in stabilising the retail market.

Retail Ireland have said the Government have a major part to play in stabilising the retail market.

The group are holding their first annual conference today in a bid to put a strategy in place to boost the sector.

Director of Retail Ireland, Stephen Lynam, said the Government needs to offer reassurances to people in relation to the economy in order to encourage spending.

He said when people know what cuts are coming well in advance they can plan their spending.
