Professional job vacancies up 18% but fewer moving

There are more jobs available for professionals this year than last.

According to the Morgan McKinley Irish Employment Monitor for October, there was an increase of 18% in vacancies when compared to September.

But less staff were seeking to move jobs.

We have seen, for the first time in quite a number of years, sectors that have been particularly challenged … like retail, construction and property - for the first time there is significant hiring across those sectors," said Karen O'Flaherty, Chief Operations Officer with Morgan McKinley

She also said the SME sector in Ireland seems to be returning to confidence.
